Roald Amundsen (1872-1928)

Today it was reported that Prince Harry and his fellow trekkers in the Walking with the Wounded Project had successfully reached the South Pole.  They arrived just one day before the 102nd anniversary of the culmination of the first successful expedition to the pole, by the Norwegian Roald Amundsen and his men.

Today’s puzzle features something that Amundsen said about the nature of this kind of extreme undertaking.

(Solving Strategy:  We suggest that you focus first on the second and then the third word of the quotation.)
