Jeannette Rankin: Disaster

Jeannette Rankin (1880-1973)

Jeannette Rankin, the first woman to serve in the U.S. Congress, died 45 years ago tomorrow, on May 18, 1973. A committed pacifist and women’s rights activist, she helped to get the 19th Amendment passed to give women the right to vote.

Today’s Quip-Find puzzle features something Representative Rankin said that is relevant to the fact that she was the only member of Congress to vote against both WWI and WWII. (Difficulty: ★★ out of 5.)
